How does Superscoring work?

You may have heard the term Superscore before. It’s an increasingly common practice whereby universities accept the top scores from individual sections of your SAT or ACT to construct a higher Superscore that they’ll consider for admissions. Here’s how it works…

Different schools have different Superscoring policies. Schools that allow you to self-report will only see that Superscore as if it was from one single test. Other schools with stricter policies will ask for you to submit all of your scores—even those schools are doing their own internal Superscoring when considering your admissions status. Basically, nearly everybody Superscores and so should you!
